And dailymealstudio is my little corner of the internet.
I launched dailymealstudio in the summer of 2017 while I was still working full‑time as a graphic designer in Austin, Texas. I had been scribbling recipe ideas on napkins during lunch breaks for years, and one rainy afternoon I finally decided to turn those scribbles into a real site. The first post was a simple avocado toast that I posted on a whim, and I never looked back.
Fast forward to today, dailymealstudio reaches about 150,000 unique visitors each month and has a newsletter community of 2,300 food lovers. I’ve published more than 45 tested recipes, filmed 12 short “how‑to” videos, and even had a feature on the Food Network blog in March 2022. The site now includes a searchable recipe index, a seasonal meal‑plan generator, and a small shop where I sell my own spice blends.
I live in Asheville, North Carolina, with my husband Mark and our two rescue cats, Luna and Milo. When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me on a nearby trail with a thermos of coffee, hunting for the perfect vintage vinyl record, or curled up with a good mystery novel. My favorite things are fresh herbs from the farmer’s market, the smell of cinnamon in the fall, and the sound of rain on the roof while a soup simmers.
One quirky habit I’ve kept since the early days is writing every new recipe on a yellow legal pad before typing it up. It feels like a little ritual that reminds me why I started—just a person who loves sharing simple, honest food with friends.
